He was an engineer who built many a thing in the South West and one of the most talked about is the Clifton Suspension Bridge. I found the perfect place to film from, a spot that was directly in line with the bridge. But if you want to see out 2018 with a bang, it's worth knowing where all the New Year's Eve firework displays are in Bristol. The Avon Gorge Hotel Sion Hill, Clifton The Avon Gorge Hotel is renowned for having one of the most incredible viewing spots in Bristol, and we're sure their New Year's Eve event will be simply magical. After the shame of being shouted at over the entire speaker system I decided to stay put behind the fence and just place my camera over the barrier. I came across a security guard and asked where the best place to film from would be just to see where she would be sending everyone and she told me that they would be sending everyone to the other side of the river where the refreshments and toilets were. A great place to view for those not inside will be from the suspension bridge or squeeze into the bar and onto the terrace! There are also shops in Clifton Village - a walk uphill from the Centre and a place to go to see the Suspension Bridge and on Road - though more of these are independent and so more likely to close.
